"...the churches of Christ salute you." Romans 16:16
At the Lee and Walnut church of Christ, we believe that it is our responsibility to worship God on the first day of the week. In Acts 20:7, the bible states, "Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight." Jesus taught that “true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”, John 4:21-24.

Singing Acapella as a Congregation
Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16; Matthew 26:30 The music that you will hear in our worship service will consist entirely of acapella singing (no instrumental accompaniment). What you hear is simply our congregation singing and making melody with our hearts to the Lord. Preaching and Teaching of the Bible Acts 2:42; 2 Timothy 4:1-4; Matthew 28:18-20 We must learn God's Word so that we can grow stronger in Christ. We also need to teach others about God's word as the bible tells us to. Giving as we have prospered 1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8; 2 Corinthians 8:1-5 If we all give as we have been told then the church gets the necessary funds to do its work. We are to give of our means as we have been prospered on the first day of the week. We are to give with a cheerful heart. |
Prayer
Acts 2:42; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; 1 Timothy 2:8 There will be prayers offered to God. This is to be a part of our public worship as well as our private daily devotions. In our prayers to God we give thanks and praise His name. In our prayers we can pray for our needs and for the needs of others. Partaking of the Lord's Supper Acts 20:5-7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28; 1 Corinthians 10:16 You will see Christians partaking of the Lord's Supper. This is a remembrance of the sacrifice of the body and blood of Jesus as He died on the cross for our sins.
